I
am a psychiatrist working at the National Referral Hospital in the capital city
of Bhutan. I graduated with MBBS degree from Armed Forces Medical College,
Pune, India in 1987. I worked initially in different hospitals from 1989 till
2002 as Medical officer and District Medical Officer. I completed my Psychiatry
residency from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka and graduated
with M.Phil degree in Psychiatry in 2006.
I have completed the basic level training of trainers course conducted by the Colombo Plan International Centre for Credentialing and Education for Addiction Professionals (CP ICCE). I have been certified as a Global trainer for imparting addiction education and I am an International Certified Addictions Professional.

I
am the focal person for the National Mental Health Program under the Ministry
of Health, Bhutan. I am happily married and have two children, a daughter and a
son. My daughter has completed her graduation in Media Science and my son is in
12th standard.
