memories and afterwards
Was seen
with the cool gang of Thary, Surdy ,Dippy, Bhalla basically the 6 Toppers. Was
the Mr Fresher due to his cool personality right from the begining. Was never
interested in studies but could read novels endlessly. Had the worst
handwriting(though Setlur was the undoubted king in that). Was also the mess sec
B mess (chicken mess) and managed to have floor parties where he would get
tonnes of food cooked for the whole floor.
Managed to clear MBBS in the first
attempt. Internship in 92 BH with Dr Reds where we heard he had innumerable
flings. MOBC was eventful with the accident while coming back from Chicken Kali
mirch and Jauhari on the pillion. He had such a bad head injury and a markedly
swollen face that I could not recognise him in the ICU. He then went on to join
the Paras (3 Para if I am not wrong) where also he had a serious burn mishap
somewhere in Sikkim. Did PG in Psychiatry with the second U wave in AFMC where
he was again instrumental in the famous U party in the living blocks of Old
solapur road( where Archana Shukla of T batch was denied entry even though she
was ready to give up her affiliation to her own batch).
Next we
met up in Guwahati where we had endless sunshine discussions in his Psy ward
lawns and then walk down to our houses. I remember how smoothly he could whip
up a barbeque stand using an old aluminium hangar
On the
fateful night of Dec 16 we had gone out for dinner to a local 5 star hotel coz
he had demanded guru dakshina from me for teaching me car driving. It was over
in a matter of few hours before his wife could react and comprehend what had happened
to him.
We miss
the absolute and unending energy he had to live life.
RIP Dorji
