If I was
not a doctor : would have been an Engineer. I carried my joining instructions for
IIT when I reported for my medicals at AFMC, just in case.
The
journey so far: Commissioned in Air Force, joined MH Ambala as
Intern along with Sanjeev Saxena. Had great fun, don’t remember having so much
fun after that. First unit was in Baroda. I had tenures in places with ‘east
most’ being Chennai. Broke this jinx by getting posted to Jorhat. Events
happened in my life and career by default and nothing by design. Got to Command
a unit and did a stint with UN Mission at Congo. Specialised in Aviation
Medicine when options were running out. Enjoyed life in Squadrons with fighter
guys. Most satisfying and enjoyable tenure was in Congo. Worked all my life at
my own terms.
Where do I
see myself 10 years from now: Enjoying my
second youth, still at my own terms.
